Moringa Other Uses
All parts of the plant can be used in a variety of ways
* The juice of Moringa leaves can be used as a fertilizer. With Moringa fertilizer plants grow considerably.
* The presscake left after oil extraction from the seeds can be used as soil conditioner or as fertilizer
* In the Sudan, powdered seeds are deemed more effective than slices of okra for treatment of bee honey; they can be used without boiling and can also be used to clarify sugarcane juice. The crushed leaves are used to clean pots and pans, and the Hausa and Yoruba of Nigeria even use them to clean walls.
* Moringa is used for beekeeping (apiculture)
* Oil is used for cooking, soap manufacture, cosmetic base and in lamps
* Traditionally used for ‘household treatment’ in Sudan and Indonesia
* Grown as live fences and windbreaks
* Wood as a source of fuel
* In Jamaica, the sap is used for a blue dye.
* The pulp of Moringa can be used for paper and rope.
* Moringa can be processed in skin care products.
* Biodiesel
* Domestic cleaning agent. Crushed leaves are used to clean cooking utensils or even walls.
* Natural pesticide, by digging Moringa leaves into the soil before planting, damping off disease can be prevented among seedlings.
